Shakespeare In Action Production 21/22 - Anthony & Cleopatra

The "Shakespeare in Action" programme provides an engaging, year-long English drama experience for both primary and secondary students. This immersive programme guides students through the vibrant world of Shakespeare, focusing on reading, analysing, and performing a selected play. Throughout the year, participants from various schools engage in drama activities, which include attending a professional theatre show with a backstage tour and participating in 24 hours of drama classes filled with workshops, auditions, and rehearsals. The culmination of this journey is an edited drama film, featuring scenes shot on location at participating schools. The final film is then screened in classrooms, at school, or online, allowing students to showcase their talents and newfound appreciation for English drama.

From July to August 2022, students explored Anthony & Cleopatra through this unique format. Participating schools included:

A total of 144 students participated in bringing this classic Shakespearean tale to life, celebrating a year of dedication, learning, and a deeper understanding of the Bard’s work.
