Shakespeare In Action Production 23/24 - A Midsummer Night's Dream

On the 21st of July 2024, the Yuen Long Theatre hosted the finale of this year's programme with a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Participating schools include:

• Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran Primary School
• Alliance Primary School (Sheung Shui)
• C.C.C. Heep Woh College
• Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College
• Buddhist Kok Kwong Secondary School

A total of 180 students came together to bring this timeless play to life, celebrating a year of dedication, learning, and a deeper understanding of Shakespeare’s work.

The "Shakespeare in Action" Project provides an engaging, year-long English drama experience for both primary and secondary students. This immersive programme guides students through the vibrant world of Shakespeare, focusing on reading, analysing, and performing a selected play. Throughout the year, participants from various schools engage in drama activities, which include attending a professional theatre show with a backstage tour and participating in 24 hours of drama classes filled with workshops, auditions, and rehearsals. The culmination of this journey is a thrilling final performance at a professional venue, where students showcase their talents and newfound appreciation for English drama.
