Story of Jasmine

My name is Jasmine, and I'm currently 13 years old. I was 11 when I joined my first program with S4A, which was a production of King Lear. Before S4A, I had never participated in any drama shows. I decided to join because I was very shy and hoped it would help improve my social skills. 

My favourite line from a Shakespeare play is "We are such stuff as dreams are made on" from The Tempest, which means that life is an illusion.

One of my favourite moments from the program was performing a show with people who when we started were complete strangers, but had become friends through rehearsals. By the end of the programme, I realised I was no longer scared of being on stage with an audience watching. Besides building my confidence, I also developed a better understanding of Shakespeare. 

Before S4A, I had never read or heard about Shakespeare! Now, I hope to visit the UK one day and see the home of William Shakespeare.
